How Do I Formalise Enrolment? (Quick Guide)

Quick Guide to Formalising Enrolment

Acadèmic UIB

You enrol through the 'Enrol' section in the Acadèmic app (CatalanSpanish and English version).

In order to change or extend your enrolment, you may do so within the set period from the 'Change Enrolment' section in Acadèmic.

Follow the steps below to move through the enrolment procedure:

The current step is always displayed with a blue box.
In order to go back or move forward, you can either use the steps above, or click 'Next' or 'Back'. Do not use the buttons on your browser.

The enrolment procedure comprises the following steps:

Curriculum Selection

This step will only display if you have started different programmes at the UIB. You thus need to select the curriculum where you wish to enrol.

Click the arrow Icona de fletxashown next to the curriculum to select it.

Personal Details

You first need to fill in your contact details and your home and termtime addresses.

You then need to ensure your personal and birth details match your ID document, since these will be included in all issued documents (academic transcript, degree certificate, European Diploma Supplement, etc.). Please contact admin services if you need to amend this information.

Before you start your external placement, the placement agreement document and appendix must be signed by all recipients, and you need to be included in the social security system. Therefore, you will need to provide your social security number (NUSS) when you enrol and create your profile in Acadèmic. See this link for more information on how to obtain your NUSS.

In this section you also need to accept the enrolment terms and conditions (general and/or specific, depending on the programme you are enrolling for) for academic and admin services during the academic year. Please read them carefully before you do so.

Finally, you must answer some questions regarding processing of your personal data and the authorisation to transfer your data to businesses and institutions that request them for academic and professional purposes for up to five years from the time you are awarded the degree. Where necessary, you may amend this information on your profile in Acadèmic.

Statistical Survey

You will need to provide the information requested for statistical purposes in this enrolment step.

Subject Selection

Here you need to select the subjects for enrolment. Before selecting them, please see the requirements to be awarded your master's degree. These are set out on the specific website for your programme.

Subjects are organised in different tabs:

  • Pending: where you have failed subjects from previous years
  • Curriculum: subjects with available enrolment. This section usually displays subjects for your current academic year. You may use the 'Add subject via code' button to add any not displayed, provided that no enrolment restrictions apply. All you need to do is enter the subject code
  • Off-curriculum: this option is only used to add subjects offered on a different curriculum that you are able to add to yours, as long as the curriculum verification report allows it
  • Pre-registered: this option only displays if admin services have marked specific subjects where you must enrol, e.g. supplementary training.

Browse through the different tabs to add all subjects where you must enrol.

Subjects are selected by clicking the Icona de creu symbol next to each one. When you select one, it is added to the 'My Selection' section.

Once added, you can edit the selection by clicking the pencil Icona de llapis (e.g. to change groups, if needed), or delete it by clicking the cross Icona aspasymbol.

Group selection is usually automatic. Where different groups are available, they will be displayed on screen for you to make a selection. We recommend that you check the schedules before starting your enrolment procedure. Please be aware that the schedules for master's programmes in the June admission call will not be final until 28th June. In turn, those for all remaining programmes will be final on 26th July 2024.

counter will appear at the top of the screen during the enrolment procedure to help you keep count of the number of credits and subjects you have added to your enrolment. It looks like this:

The amend enrolment and addition of courses area in the 'My Selection' section permanently displays all subjects where you have enrolled for the academic year, including those you may have already taken.

After finalising this step, the app will check that you fulfil all academic progress, attendance and enrolment requirements, as well as any subject pre-requisites. Where you do not fulfil any condition, the app will notify you so that you may amend your enrolment accordingly.

Where any selected subject requires a clean certificate of sexual offences, you will need to either tick the box authorising the UIB to consult your record, or agree to submitting one yourself. In order to authorise the UIB to consult your record, you must provide either your father's or mother's name exactly as it appears on your ID card.

Payment Details

In order to continue the enrolment procedure, you need to state whether you qualify for any discount. Certain items automatically display, whilst others are shown as available (documents pending) to add to the selected discounts column. The documents for these discounts must be submitted to the corresponding admin services within the set deadline.

Select the grantholder option if you have applied for a Ministry grant.

Select the payment method and whether you want to pay in instalments.

The 'Other Fees' section may display other items—some mandatory and some optional.

Enrolment Confirmation

The final step displays a summary of the information you have entered throughout the process, i.e. your enrolment, the academic and admin services fees, the invoice due date and the selected payment method.

Please bear in mind that in this step you are signing an agreement with the university for academic and admin services during the academic year. Failure to pay will incur a 5% surcharge which will appear as a pending debt and prevent you from performing any other procedure at the university.

If you agree with the information on this page and wish to formalise your enrolment, click 'Confirm'.

If you have chosen to pay by card, a secure payment gateway will open for you to pay your tuition fees.

After this, your enrolment documents will be displayed.

If you have chosen to pay by direct debit, the SEPA mandate will appear. The accountholder must fill in and sign this form, and submit it to the corresponding admin services, alongside all other supporting documents regarding any exemption or discount option you have selected.
