Equivalence Assessment for Non-validated Overseas Qualifications

Students with overseas qualification do not need to have them validated in order to take master's programmes (unless the curriculum verification report for the programme they wish to take requires it). In this instance, applicants must apply for the programme through an equivalence assessment.

Where the admission qualification assessment is positive, the CEP will send the pre-registration application to the relevant body for the programme to assess and decide on student admission. The results will be published with the admission list.

Where the admission qualification assessment is negative, students will be sent the decision to their personal folder on the UIB e-services portal (accessed with UIB credentials). This decision ends the procedure, although students do have the right to submit any relevant appeal.

Admission to a programme via this method shall in no way imply validation of the prior qualification held by applicants, or its recognition for any other purposes than admission to a master's degree programme. Applicants interested in validating their undergraduate or postgraduate qualification, or having it declared equivalent to a Spanish qualification, must consult the terms and conditions on the Ministry of Universities website.
